The approximately 1 hour-long meander along the river, flanked by indigenous Breede River Yellowwood and Wild Olive trees teeming with a variety of bird species, sets the scene for a leisurely riverside experience. The 50 minute river cruise comes at a mere R120 for adults and R50 for children between 3 and 12 years. Babies are welcome too. Kids below the age of 3 are free of charge.

The boat departs daily at various times depending on reservations.

Viljoensdrift
The boat trip was a very good experience. We enjoyed it thoroughly. For a few rand more it could actually be a bit longer and stand still at a particular point in time for people to enjoy the view more. Longer waiting period between rides so that staff have ample enough time to. clean in between and people have reserved seats allocated to them. That way nobody has to rush or wait. The views and the trip on the river more than made up for any hiccups encountered. Thank you. - Celia
Our River cruise on 12 April 2026 was a most enjoyable experience. We were impressed by the service at the restaurant. The turnaround time for the food was quick, and the meal was delicious. Drinks service was good too. We liked what the restaurant offered as a perfect selection of choice for the picnic basket. It was unfortunate that the weather was not on our.side to enjoy the trip as we wanted too, but the staff were so polite and friendly which made up for it. The venue and pizza were enjoyed by the whole family. Live entertainment was also really nice - Joleen
Well... we will definitely come again. First time for us, Breede River cruise at Viljoensdrift was marvelous, and blissful. From preparation to boarding and actual cruising, the scenery was beautiful, and although with a cold front approaching, the sun was still up and giving some warmth. The captain was also helpful in explaining the details of the river, and the farms along the river. - Khaya
