The approximately 1 hour-long meander along the river, flanked by indigenous Breede River Yellowwood and Wild Olive trees teeming with a variety of bird species, sets the scene for a leisurely riverside experience. Fill your picnic basket to the brim with sumptuous fare from our deli and enjoy your picnic during your trip down the river. What better way to spend a laid-back afternoon with family and friends?
The 50 minute river cruise comes at a mere R120 for adults and R50 for children between 3 and 12 years. Babies are welcome too. Kids below the age of 3 are free of charge.

The boat departs daily at various times depending on reservations.
Thereafter there will be trips hourly depending on bookings. Advanced bookings essential. Check-in 45 mins. prior to departure.

We had an awesome day. It was quite special because it was my Birthday!!!!! We love stopping off there and enjoy the day. I love the shop, the wine, the people. Would love it if the boat trip could be a bit longer..... Just found that by the time you have set up your snacks and poured the wine the trip is almost finished. Definitely worth driving to Viljoensdrift to experience the boat trip. Relaxing time on the water with nice snacks from the deli. Have done it several times in the past and will most definitely do it again. - Helena
What a pleasant 50 mins spent with my family on the Breede river. Ample parking, lovely surroundings - we could get our supply of breads, cheeses , cold meats and wine at the Viljoenskroon delicatessen and take it aboard our river cruise boat. Leisurely time spent and I recommend it highly. - Gavin
Good day I had family over from Gauteng and we were 12 people on the lounger. we had a ball of a time even though the wind was very strong. It was my second time with family doing this we stay in Somerset West and for the Gauteng people their first. The trip is really great and also the pricing is very good for it. Buying the food and wine was also affordable. I ordered pizza for the children before we went on the lounger and said to make it as fast as possible which the kitchen did for us. They had ample time to eat before departing. We had a wonderful experience. We will do it again. thanks for everyting - Hugo
